It's SNOWING!!!

While there's still a FEW rocks showing - grinning - Alta DID receive 13" of fresh pow a few days ago!!!

So I will throw in a picture of Nuptse that magnificently sits in front of Everest (Chomolangma in Tibetan) when viewed from Kala Patthar at 5,550 meters (over 18,200 ft).

I forgot to mention how to say Uncle in Chinese - first let me say that the Chinese have a different word for Elder Brother than Younger Brother (Sister too, yes but we are talking here about my Dad's Elder Brother, so everyone knows exactly what you mean).  They call George - my father's elder brother - 伯 !!!!  Oh, for those of you (like me) who are novices at reading Chinese characters, in pin yin that is : Bo Bo!!  (Or Bo fu, but I like - and Aunt Pat said Wendy would too, like Bo Bo better!)  George just smiled widely when I told him!!!  (By the way, pin yin is the mainland Chinese  way of transliterating characters.  Law states that all street signs must be in pin yin too - yes, English is the international standard, as my Chinese english students have written in their papers.)

Speaking of which - time to get off to the Library to see how to get into Elsevier - the Journal publishing giant - and whether we can retrieve full articles from other Journals like the American Economic Review - YES, LEGALLY by paying money - which is BIG money for Chinese university libraries.
