WOW - a BEAUTIFUL CLEAR DAY!
What a beautiful sunny day to wake up to here in Shanghai! Clear too!
I saw a quote today and wanted to share as I often find myself with competing interests:
"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."
Bill Cosby - Actor and Comedian
A very pleasant reminder!
I believe a picture is in order. - Have you ever been to Shangri La? We made it!!! Actually, the town used to be named Zhong Dian but the name was of the General who defeated the Tibetans a whilst back. So the Chinese changed the name in this Yunnan town to Shangri La. Just a final note for those of you who are interested: Shangri La is actually in what might be called Greater Tibet. The Tibetans live in Yunnan, Sichuan and Qinghai provinces as well in the Tibetan Autonomous Region.
P.S. There is only one landing strip and the long descent into the airport was ... interesting! Here in Shangri La, we are still at 12,000 feet and the flight from Lhasa is a spectacular one to say the least as you fly over the "Roof of the World." Even in the end of June the mountains are totally white.
