Benjamin Nelson Moyls

My Grandma Parkes was born Greta Moyls (Gram to us).  Ben, I believe, was a first cousin once removed to me.  A very nice guy that I only remember meeting once - in May, 2006, at his home a stone's throw from the UBC campus.  Stories - wow, we spent a very short time there and I remember lots.  Anyway, one story Ben told us was that he married the daughter of the Harvard President, Ina and had thirty wonderful years with her before she died.  He then married his current (at the time) wonderful wife Toby, as mentioned below in the obit.  Ben then proceeded to tell my sister Linda and myself that my father, his cousin, was in one of Ben's math classes.  My uncle George then asked, "that must have been hard, eh Ben?"  Ben said, "that was easy compared to when I taught his sister!!!"

We all chuckled heartily.

Then Ben added, I do remember that when the class had finished, your dad (he was looking at Linda and myself) came up to me and said "I enjoyed your class very much, ...  however *I* would have taught it differently!!!"  THAT was dad!

I am fortunate to have met Ben and Toby and spent a very enjoyable couple of hours with them.  Here's his obituary:
