So long Jerry Wu

One of our colleagues, Jerry Wu, has decided to go to work for the Bank of Communications. Tonight we have a going away dinner for him.  Also I finally received pictures from Hangzhou from my colleagues - who ARE my colleagues?

I thought you would NEVER ask!  Here we are at Xi Hu (West Lake), one of the most beautiful lakes in all of China (often compared, by many Chinese, to Xi Zi, the most beautiful woman in Ancient China).

Chaucerli, Elena, ME, Hansen, Lucy, Sylvia and Wu Jun, whose camera we used!  You may remember that we walked all the way around the Lake (stopping once for the famed Long Ji tea, a couple of times for cotton candy and other fun (see below) and once for dinner at Lou Wai Lou, infamous, on an island overlooking the Lake with the infamous Hangzhou sweet and sour fish.  The fish only lives in the lake here - although attempts have been made to transplant the fish, it never thrives.

We had an excellent two days!  Today we interviewed a candidate and have a three more to go in the future.
I HAVE TO WORK ON MY CHINESE!!!  YIKES!  More tutoring coming up, I can feel it!

Unfortunately, Jerry was not able to attend the weekend (either was Jack), Sophial's (she was in a previous picture) daughter was sick and she was unable to go either.  Sophial and Sylvia live with their families here in Jia Ding, the others live in the Zha Bei area (or near by).  Fridays are our department meetings ... oops, time to
catch the bus to Zha Bei for the dinner.
