La Ruta Maya - one year ago!
Hard to believe that one year ago I was on my way to Playa Del Carmen and Coba, Mexico; Tikal and Panahachel, Guatemala; Rotan, Honduras; and Crater's Edge, Nicaragua! Way too many pictures to show here but I do have to ply up a few from Chad's camera - as I was going through them last night! Crater's Edge is actually on an earlier post, OK at least the sunset from Crater's Edge is on an earlier post!
Here's a picture after climbing up the main pyramid at Coba, Mexico. We were able to see most of the end of the Yucatan (or at least it appeared so).

We traveled along Mexico's Caribbean Sea coastline to Chetumal. Took a bus from there through Belize to Flores, Guatemala, an island city for Christmas last year (very beautiful, we also were able to swim in the lake), close to Tikal, one of the main Mayan ruins. Flores is where many of us learned about Skype and were able to call home for Christmas - Mom was blown away, "That's a first for me! A call from Guatemala!"

The picture above is taken from one tower, looking across to the other with a little of the square's ruins showing to the left. Below one can get a bit better idea of the height.

Nice memories - Merry Christmas all!
