The Final Exam is written!
Now THAT was interesting!
You may remember that most of the time, in China, things are done in real time or on the fly, as we say in IT lingo. Another way to say this in BUSINESS terms is JIT (just in time)! SO YES, the Final Exam is in! Whew! I did receive the final in time, "adjusted' it a little (the same classes are supposed to have "similar" exams - read as almost the same), and then printed it out.
The process was rather prolonged!!! ...
OH - "but not on 8.5" x 11" paper - no on A4, right?!" NO! Dang, on B5 - "B5"? Is that a type of paper? Where the heck do I ... oh, on the printer for the computer in the office across the hall! Hmmm, and MY copy of MS Word does not know this B5 paper configuration!! Interesting! The size is VERY small - like almost half the size of a normal sheet of "American" paper. (Realize that most of the rest of the world is metric, so 8.5" by 11" doesn't mean much to the rest of the world - they don't HAVE "twelve inch" rulers!!! Laughing!).
What I think is weird is that they put TWO of these pages on ONE VERY LARGE page for the students to TAKE the exam! Then after the students have taken the exam, we all carry around the HUGE sets of tests trying to grade them, etc. etc. Up until about a week ago, I was still seeing copies of LAST term's tests!
Anyway, the formatting needed tweaking, etc. However, they're IN! Now I have one more day and I can fly to the U.S.! My rental car is ordered for SLC - I will keep it for a week! The snow is ordered (though not too much so that I can't travel!!!)!
Now I just have a bit more grading and some PPT to make and a grade sheet to finish! Then to pack and travel to Pudong airport ... grinning wildly!
