Some final pictures of Xishuang Banna
Tomato plants going wild - yes, there are obviously wonderful year round vegies here as this is March 14th.

Continuing the bicycle ride, here is an example of the apartment complexes one sees EVERYWHERE in China. Here, just a very short bike ride before reaching the Dai Villages - I continue to wonder HOW the developers finance all the building. Never putting up just one building at a time, a whole city complex of towers is built at the same time. My current question is - where does all of the financing come from?!!? (Only a portion of the apartment complex is shown below).

NOT EVEN HALF of the bee keep - I wanted to at least give you an idea of the size!

You can zoom in to see the bees all working away as he checks the hive. His wife (I presume) was working above.

Around the corner, rubber trees. Latex prices have demanded a change in the "farming" done around the area. Now, instead of rice paddies everyone, one sees rubber trees everywhere! You can see the scoring below to get the sap flowing, the tap and the cup to hold it have been repositioned above for a second "milking". (my word)

Below, I kept on riding and found myself a ways down south in a modern village (before heading back to the Dai village I documented previously). I had to take a picture of the bicycle I was on and this modern house!

Finally, coming out of the Dai Village and down the highway, I came upon these HUGE planks of wood (from Africa and Brazil, it turns out, as well as the factory and workers. I'll only include one of the pictures.

I would love to get back here and do more bicycle riding, trekking in the forests and relaxing - another year!
