Pinkeye!

OK, so I am posting this on Thursday morning because I still went to work on Tuesday after getting pink eye late on Monday night.  Just BOOM, one eye was bad (all puffed in the morning, etc.) so I set up an apt at the clinic for Wed morning.  (WHY?  Because I can't say "pink eye" in Chinese - let alone, as it turns out, understand Shanghainese or figure out how to take the medicines ... without help!).

Again, we have excellent staff here at SILC!

So I went into the university clinic, the doctor (there were 3 at least on staff at 10 am) asked what's up, I pointed to my eyes whilst my translator said, "got the pink eye man!"  He asked whether I thought it was from the cold and I said yes, that I thought it was bacterial (mucus out of my eyes wasn't clear), he thought it was viral.

SOOOO ...

I got BOTH medicines!!!  I do have a cold too!

WHAT, you ask ...  OH, first - yes, I am ALREADY doing much better, thank you!  (Grin)

So, I have two eye drops - one I put in first, then two hours later I use the other, then I switch back, and like that!

Second, I have a homeopathic drink.  It is a totally sealed, two inch high by 3/4 inch diameter bottle.  You take a little straw and puncture the top, then drink!

Third, an anti-viral pill - take one, two to three times a day AND an anti-biotic, take one, two to three times a day!!!

OVERKILL?!?!  The Chinese young lady (Catherine's new assistant) sure thought so!!!  However, I am the foreign teacher and they wanted me to get healthy, no doubt!!!

The cost - 130 yuan (that's less than $20), OH and SILC does pay for that as Lindsay (the assistant) took the receipts and I will be reimbursed today.  Talk about quick reimbursement!!!  SILC's AWESOME that way!
