Happy Easter!

On this most sacred day of Christianity, the weather was amazingly co-operative.

Services in Jia Ding included fireworks - during the consecration too! A small church, which of course was full!

In Shanghai, there were services on all three floors at 10:30 (yes, these are Catholic masses).  It is very hard to find times for services anywhere in English, but then the atheist government only tolerates the churches rather than supporting them.

We had Easter Brunch at Fuxing Park and the Restaurant set up a table outside for us.  Though a little bit windy and cool at times, it was a quite amazing and wonderful afternoon in the park.  The gathering included Brad (the Associate Dean), his mother and her friend joining us (they are visiting from Australia); Jenny, her husband (Barry), daughter and her husband were the hosts; with Jane and Adam from Zha Bei; as well as Tom, Judy and I from Jia Ding.  The meals were quite amazing - an Italian restaurant so we had Insalada first, of course, and then a main meal.  Lots of coffee!  The area was originally developed by the French and the architecture expresses this.

We had to stop on the way home and pick up DVDs on Dagu Road.  I, of course, had to stop for bread at the Mediterranean Bakery!!!  (I have a feeling this is the beginning of a weekly pilgrimage!).  Pictures will come from Tom later - as well as the pictures from the Saturday night jam fest at "The Monk."
