Reading U.S. Management books! Laughing!

Reading the New York Times this Sunday morning (Saturday afternoon, EDT), I see an article by Joe Nocera (from Beijing) about U.S. Management writers - Drucker, Welch, Tom Peters, etc.

Did Joe go to my sight and get the idea?! - At least I put in a picture!  laughing!  AND MY PICTURE was from a SUPERMARKET, not a bookstore!!  JOE THE CHINESE URBANITES READ MANAGEMENT BOOKS EVERYWHERE!!!

OK - I am just poking fun, I was just as surprised last April 12th when I saw the copies - no doubt!  Warren Buffett too!  All in Chinese, even though China will soon become the largest English speaking country in the world!!  (Now the quality of understanding will vary but they are almost all better at English than I am at speaking, listening and surely reading Chinese!! - there's no contest! Laughing!).

Here's Joe's money quote from the article:
In the course of my two weeks in China, I heard this refrain constantly — and not just from business school professors. “We are constantly looking for chief financial officers who can speak Mandarin,” said Thomas Tsao of Gobi Partners, a Shanghai-based venture capitalist. “There just aren’t very many people here who have the range of skills you need in that position.”  (same link as above)
So learn Putonghua (Mandarin), Finance and Management - you'll have a top level job in China, easily!  grin  (OR if you are one of MY Chinese students - just learn Finance and Management well!!!)
