Picnic at Da Ning Park and Happy Hour at Sasha's - Pictures!

A Labor Day picnic - always, eh?  Australian/Chinese style!

OK - the food was totally Western, turkey sandwiches, egg salad little pocket sandwiches, potato salad, pasta salad, and of course, beer! Rada and her husband joined us (he said one company in the town in which he works laid off 2,000 of 8,000 employees - they make upscale furniture for the U.S.! - His company makes veneer.)

Yes, the crowds were crazy as we marveled at the choices of wedding "costumes" and the little boats (which came right past us below, as you can see).

There was frisbee, badminton and of course lots of pictures!

Some of the Chinese, English teachers also joined us: Nancy, Linda and Clara (their English taken names, of course) and Clara's son and husband.  Oh yes, tall bottles of Sprite, Seven Up and Coke are readily available!  Now if you want a COLD drink, well you need to wait until Shanghai gets really hot!  Most of the little shops don't begin to use their refrigerators until it gets very hot and even then sometimes finding a good COLD drink is tough!

No pictures of Sasha's (yet) but we later went there for happy hour (some of us).  I went with Adam to check out his apartment - nice square footage, two bedrooms, OK TV although at least one sofa need replacement.  31st floor!  We'll see who else is moving out, etc. soon - rent and situation at Adam's is the best, I think.   Sasha's is MUCH cheaper when visited during Happy Hour - Carlsberg on tap is only 20 yuan ($3), same for other drinks.
