Being ready to do things "on the fly," as we say today, is crucial in China.  Things are often due immediately and meetings are scheduled now for now - none of this planning stuff. 

You need to be prepared ALWAYS!  JIT (just-in-time) takes on a new meaning here in China!

On Friday, I was asked to provide the final for my Macroeconomics classes.  The last two terms, I was only to revise (or not) the other teacher's final.  On Friday, I was asked to provide my final for my classes.  Ah HA!  I did ask the Macroeconomics coordinator the day before about the final.  So I had one day prior notice (the day that I work a 12 hour day, so of course nothing had been done yet when the Economics Department Head messaged me)! 

No worries as I was able to get an extension until Monday at noon.  HOWEVER, that has led to a weekend of grading and writing Finals!

Almost done, so some prior blog posts on Economics and Finance will be forthcoming sometime soon!

OH - it is also birthday week, Mother's Day and that's a busy one for me.  Two nieces, a nephew and one of my sisters have their birthday within 10 days - and Mother's Day always is in between May 5 and May 15!  Laughing - lots of fun to talk with everyone from China!!!  First birthday call THEY have received from Shanghai!!
