After checking out a couple of apartments with my colleague Lin, I checked out Andrew and Richard's place just off Yan Chang Lu (the street name most of Shanghai University knows the campus by).  While their apt is a little distance from campus, that is not necessarily a bad thing!!  grin

The two places I looked at with Professor Lin were great - a separate gated community to the north of campus at 4800 yuan per month but they wanted me to move in now - and "not great" - a place located just below James and Dan.  They wanted 6800 for the "3 bedroom" which wasn't really even a two bedroom!!!  I said no thanks - my colleagues have one above for 4000 yuan and a better layout!

The good part about Andrew & Richard's place is that their lease ends on August 15 and I am HOPING to take over the lease and end it on June 15, plus keep their rent price!!!  We shall see!  I don't want to pay for June and July, if I can help it!

Quick notes:

The French Open is on - one of my favorite past times has been "espresso in the morning" whilst watching the red clay!!!  NOW, the show is in reverse - watching the red clay with a Stella Artois!  Laughing!

The Martian lander has successfully sent back pictures already!!!  How cool!  Shuttle about to take off (May 31!).

Still a couple of late posts to come on the economy, etc.  Finals just sometimes get in the way of a good blog post!
