Plenty of work still to do!
OK - work yes, but we have also had two birthday parties in two nights with all of the other stuff to go along with them! (NO, mine isn't until SATURDAY!! Last year? Trekking up to Everest Base Camp at this time!)
Robby's birthday party (after the kickball and cake) was at the Korean Restaurant downtown Jia Ding in the heart of old town. Sake and copious quantities of food were had by all. Fourteen Chinese and Foreign teachers joined the festivities - quite amazing for an impromptu get together!
The David organized a dinner for his wife Lanelle at the Brazilian steakhouse in Shanghai. Talk about a ton of meat - lots of other food too, but they would come around every few minutes with two skewers of beef, lamb, etc. all barbarqued differently!
Then there was the cake - ice cream, yum - for 20 of us!! ...

Lynnelle is talking to Mom and then Dad, while Ashley is saying - this is an ice cream cake, HELLO!!??! In Shanghai, can you say - melting, I'm MELTING!!! laughing ...

Oh YEAH, can you say Cold Stone Creamery cake, in Shanghai!!! We really do rough it! Laughing!
Work? Oh, yeah - I have a review due in the next few days for the Handbook of International Information Management and a couple of abstracts to write (research to decide upon) for a conference in Beijing on Australia in October. Grade issues are almost finished. Setting up bank accounts was a very interesting thing too!!!
So I am passportless in Shanghai - we have to give the Chinese government 5 working days to get our next year's visa!! So here I am until June 16th - sitting and relaxing and practicing Tai Ji, food, visiting and banking! laughing!
