In HARBIN, Hei Long Jiang (or Manchuria)

Just back from Wu Dalian Chi, up near Russia (about 6 hours by train away).  Nice and cool up there after arriving on Tuesday in Harbin to 97 degrees F (37 degrees C)!!  YIKES!   Traveled up to Bai Ji by train then they took us to see an Ice Cave (hokey but fun anyway), a sea of stone (Lava Field - totally cool), eat and have the mostest special mineral water (health thingy that the Russians all come down for) and then a mineral bath!!  YEAH!  OF COURSE the women and men had separate baths!!!

Then the rain hit last night!  Nice and cool for sleeping, we awoke to more rain - ate breakfast and hiked up and around the crater of the largest volcano in China, so we were told - we'll see what Chang Bai Shan is like but I believe it is half in North Korea so that MAY be why it isn't #1.

Off to Jing Po Hu tomorrow - Mirror Lake!  A day or so there before heading to Chang Bai Shan.  Then I get to spend a couple of nights there before taking the train to Chang Chun, Jilin.  Finally, Wednesday, June 25, I fly to
Shanghai to pick up a few things before flying to the USA (SLC) on Thurs

    Hi, Andrew.
Still remember me? I am the boy you met in Wu Dalian Chi tour. Your blog is great. The photos that you took in Chang Bai Shan are amazing. I don't have time to visit there in this trip, but I will find a chance to go there to have a look.

Yes I do remember you, Patrick!  You helped to teach me a new card game on the train back from the volcanoes!
