Yan Ji, Ji Lin Province - Pictures
I am in Yan Ji currently, that is in Ji Lin province - OK Manchuria - though I would swear I
was in Korea if it weren't for the fact that everything is in Chinese as well!!! I meet friends along
the way - everyone is SOOO friendly (yes, I get the looks - have not seen another white person since
Harbin, I believe).
So on the trip to Chang Bai Shan National Park, I met a woman and her daughter. The park was
excellent though the trip from Yan Ji was long! Lots of stops to rest and sleep was had along the
way. Anyway, they took me to dinner to speak English after the trip. Jane, the daughter, is 12 and
doing quite well with English - better than my Chinese!!!
Belatedly, here's a picture of the three of us!

Anyway, they invited me last night to her mom's (grandmother's) place in the country (a small farm)
and we ate Korean style food - Jane and I spoke English and we visited. Then her sister (who helped cook,
etc. - her son is only 2) had a friend who got us into a play - a wonderful 4 seasons dance and song play!!!
Wonderful choreography, dancing and play!! (Play Pictures next post)
Here's a picture of Mei Mei, her younger sister and son!

The farm view from the porch:

Anyway, she wants to take me to the train station this morning so I must again cut this short!
Today it is over to Chang Chun, the capital of Ji Lin (next to North Korea). I am there one night and then
fly back to Shanghai. One night in Shanghai to pick up things. Two of my friends want to get together
for a last few beers and chat - set up things for when I return, etc.
So the next post will most likely be tonight but the Internet bars were PACKED here yesterday, so who knows!
Pictures soon to follow! Stay tuned!
