Not even a few more miles and I saw this ... a speck but loping along in the middle of the road!!! ...

  

What is it?  A bear?!  ... ... better go slowly as there is no where for it to run!!

 
 
Wow, it still doesn't hear me?!?  Bears are said to have the same hearing and sight abilities as humans!

 

 But their sense of smell is 400 times better than ours!!!  So if they cannot smell you, you may end up surprising a bear!!!  And grizzly bears as well as mothers with cubs don't take to kindly to surprises!!!

 

Now it wants to get going - soon to drop into the ditch and weeds.  Look at those claws - blurred as they are!
