I drove up as far as the logging roads go ...

  

And this is what I saw, the moon and a little peak with a house on it!

  

Through beautiful forests of cedar, fir and spruce (with a little pine, the mountain pine beetle has killed most of the pines up north but there are not so many around here, mostly cedar and hemlock due to the wet climate).  The Sub alpine meadow above shows the Indian Paintbrush and below many of the other flowers ...

 

Lots of variation in the meadows and forests as I climbed through the differing ecosystems!

 

Now breaking out above the tree line - there's the lookout house again!  Yes, I WILL climb up there!
