Arrival on the Bayfield peninsula!

Only two days of travel from Calgary, Alberta to Washburn, Wisconsin!!!  WOW!  One of the biggest reasons for the quick travel is that I didn't want to have to travel through deer country (Minnesota and Wisconsin) on this Thursday night as I did last night (July 29) in Montana!!  I saw many deer at the sides of the road (well over 100) - one with a HUGE rack (of antlers) on its head!

However, the only animal I came close to hitting was a ewe (female sheep) and its lamb!!!  They were at the left side of the road, so I slowed down, was almost past them and all of a sudden they passed RIGHT in front of me!!!  I was able to stop in time but notice THAT is how careful you have to be with animals!  They change direction instantaneously!

From the balcony of the upstairs living room, a sunset through the pines in Bayfield county, Wisconsin.
