Saturday washing day!

OK so Saturday was spent washing 3 loads of laundry in my new apartment, waiting for the real estate guy to come and tell me that his writing was a "v" in the password for the adsl broadband connection, and waiting for the landlord to come and figure out the air conditioner remote control!!!  Laughing out loud!!!

Of course I do not have any dishes, wok or pots so I still am going out to restaurants, which I do not mind figuring out right now.  There are lots and lots of restaurants within a two block area of my apartment.

The typical Chinese washer - spins the heck out of the clothes so that they are all tangled together!!!

The typical Chinese dryer - hanging the clothes out the window, or in my case, on the balcony!!!  "What do you mean," a typical Chinese response to a western style clothes dryer, "the machine blows warm air on the clothes while spinning them??  What a waste of energy and money!!"

Can you imagine how much energy would be used if all the Chinese bought a dryer and used it regularly?!!?  Laughing out loud!!!  We DID have a dryer last year at Pan Yuan hotel (or spinning air blower - never really dried the clothes unless you turned it on for over two hours!).
