Silver Lining? (Off to Xi'an)

According to AAA (here is their fuelgage website), national gas prices are down significantly:

Regular Mid Premium Diesel E85 **E85 MPG/BTU adjusted price
Current Avg. $3.084 $3.217 $3.313 $3.764 $2.462 $3.241
Yesterday Avg. $3.125 $3.259 $3.358 $3.795 $2.504 $3.295
Month Ago Avg. $3.854 $4.019 $4.141 $4.188 $3.055 $4.020
Year Ago Avg. $2.776 $2.947 $3.054 $3.104 $2.236 $2.942

*Prices are in US dollars per gallon

Notice that although prices are almost below $3.00, down 4 cents from last week, prices are still UP from a year ago!

Furthermore, look at diesel prices!!!  We are down over a dollar a gallon from the summer when I was driving around the U.S. and Canada!  (Nope don't regret the trip one bit!)

Highest Recorded Average Price:
Regular Unl.$4.1147/17/2008
DSL.$4.8457/17/2008

Silver lining? - Hmm, ... the economy is not doing well, wealth dropped significantly so gas prices are down?  I really don't thing that's much of a silver lining, but there you go!  At least there was a 400 point bounce UP at the end of today (Thursday)!

OFF TO XI'AN to see the Terra Cotta Warriors, etc. - HEART of the OLD CHINA (from around 1000 B.C. to 1000 A.D.! Back Sunday night, our time!
