STILL COLD - grin!
Well, 27 degrees (that's -2 C) means we are below freezing for the second night. A bit of a surprise for some, I am sure!!
I think that the prediction was to freeze on Friday night and then last night/this morning to be above freezing, although close to it! STILL we are expected to be in the 50s today and 60s by mid-week again! Just enough to take the leaves off the trees and flowers off the less hardy plants.
The Shanghainese manage to plant many "flowering" plants which keep the city relatively green during the winter as well. There is a clear rotation in foliage plantings, since the city does not freeze HARD - below 10 C is not common - though I may change that come February.
You see, last year I left January 26 and did not return until February 23, but THIS year I leave on January 9 but return on February 9. I missed the snows of last year but will be here THIS year for what could be the depth of the cold!! We shall see.
Again, the nice thing is that the pollution levels are tolerable and the views are quite magnificent from my apartment again! GRIN!
