Shanghai Maglev on Friday!
Looks like a "no-brainer" to me!!! (linked to the website)
The price of a bus trip to Pudong airport (the International Airport) in Shanghai has been raised to 22 yuan now. The bus trip takes a full hour minimum. Also, I have to take the #1 subway line to the Shanghai Train Station, travel through the underneath shopping and subway links area. Travel across the square (no small feat usually) to find the bus. They leave regularly about every 15 - 20 minutes.
On the other hand, for 50 yuan (40 with an airline ticket - no e-tickets) one can ride the Maglev which takes 20 minutes. I will have to travel a bit further on the #1 line to People's Square and then transfer to the #2 subway line (again, no small feat) and take the #2 line almost to the end in the middle of the Financial District. The Maglev trains also leave every 15 - 20 minutes.
Will take pictures and post when I get to the U.S., no doubt. HAVE to try the new things at least once, eh? grin
