Ummm, I am not sure the sinking is a good idea whilst the American Secretary of State is in Beijing!  (Let alone any other time!)

China calls it unacceptable - Russia says the captain of the ship was at fault!  (China Daily article here.)

Interestingly, the Chinese ship was leaving the port city of Nakhodka - a RUSSIAN city.  The Russian newspapers said that the captain violated border laws.  A very interesting situation, to say the least!

Something about importing poor quality rice, leaving the harbor without permission after being detained ...

Of course the Chinese authorities are "Shocked" (the Chinese newspapers words) by the Russian attitude!!!  Not supposed to harm long term relations between the two countries, according to a Chinese official in the newspaper!
