Class times always amaze me here in Shanghai!
In the United States, classes are always at the same time every day they are scheduled.
For example, a class may be 10 am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 50 minutes and the next begins at 11 am.
alternatively
A Tuesday/Thursday class may meet at 9:30 am for 1 hour and 15 minutes with the next being at 11 am. Each class meets for 3 hours per week (OK, in reality, with 10 minutes for travel from class to class - 15 on Tues/Thurs - each only meets for 2.5 hours).
Here in Shanghai, my classes may meet on Tuesday at 10 am for 2 hours (45 minutes with a 10 minute break and another 45 minutes) with a 20 minute break between classes. The students (and professors) NEED 20 minutes for a "tea" break, smoke (if they do) and a bite to eat, as the next class will be two hours too!!
The thing is, the same class that meets at 10 am on Tuesday, may then meet on Thursday at 2:10 pm!!!
Variety is the spice of life, eh?!? Laughing!!! THEN, I JUST get used to the schedule and boom, time for a new term!! Shoot, two weeks and finals begin again!! C'est la vie! (Wow, haven't used that term in a while!)
