Computer Updated - YES!!!
TALK ABOUT SLOW!!! My computer is OLD (July 2005) and HUGE (17" monitor Dell Inspiron, 9300) with only 512 RAM!
When a friend was having too many problems with his computer and frustrated enough that he was going to buy a new one - we headed to Best Buy:
Right next to the LARGEST BANK IN THE WORLD ICBC - Chinese government owned, oh no - sorry, 15% is public and as the Americans now consider AIG public at 80% owned, CITI public at ... well, I am not sure!!! You get the point! Laughing - who knows these days.
Xu jia hui is one of the more SWANKY areas with expensive shopping, NEW stores, etc.
The Best Buy is AMERICAN owned, NOT a JV (Joint Venture). So I finally found the first REAL DVDs in China!! 130 yuan!!! $20 - no wonder no one was even in that section of the store (a small section, to say the least). THE STORE WAS PACKED however!
The building has 5 floors - everything from Lazy Boy massage chairs to vaccume cleaners to big, big screen TVs to Mini computers (gotta git myself a one of them for travelin'!!! WOW! and CHEAP!)
We chatted with the Geek Squad on Friday night and I went back Saturday and now have 2 Gigs of RAM in my Dian Nao!! (Electric Brain! LAUGHING!!) ZZOOOOOOMMM!! MUCH faster now!
They popped it in, 400 yuan (about $45) and I AM SET!!! (I won't be bringing my computer home this summer as I will be traveling through the Middle East before arriving in the U.S.!!)
