OK - *I* don't get the SPIN either but then I guess I don't live in America and have to "Sugar Coat" everything.
OH WAIT - I LIVE IN THE PROPAGANDA WORLD OF CHINA - Yeah, tell me the American Media doesn't spin their own propaganda (and by the way, propaganda is not pejorative - that is, propaganda is not necessarily negative, just the American thought of it is).
So Let ME give you the numbers and NO SPIN (wait, I already did my spin - grin)!
Let's see: Discouraged Workers - up 79% in one year (over 700,000 not looking for a job because of the economy):

Let's see: Discouraged Workers - up 79% in one year (over 700,000 not looking for a job because of the economy):
- The unemployment rate for college graduates, while still low, has nearly doubled. Furthermore, as many of you know, if you can't find a job, you go to graduate school because you have student loans to pay, unless you are still in school!!!
- The unemployment rate is now 8.9% and still on track to rise over 10% next year.
- Revisions to February and March lost another 66,000 jobs not previously counted.
- The estimate for April was another 539,000 jobs lost.
- The U-6 unemployment rate from the Bureau of Labor Statistics is at 15.8%:
- U-6: Total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers, plus
total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent
of the civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers
