Mount Sinai Sunrise and Burning Bushes

Last night we (14 of us) left the hotel at almost midnight for a trip to Saint Catherine's Monastery.  From there we climbed up the rocky, craggy trail during the early morning hours to a 750 step rise - over 7,000 feet above sea level.

Mount Sinai is reputed to be the place that Moses received the Ten Commandments.

After watching the sun rise we hiked back down the 3750 steps (the other path to the 750 steps was a camel trail and very steep too but the steps were something else!!!).

Saint Catherine's Monastery opened at 9 am so after hiking down, we toured the church, museum and saw the Burning Bush - pictures galore of course!!

Most everyone is sleeping now.

Will do pictures later of course!
