Jade Buddha Monastery
Today I went to see the Jade Buddhas and the only Monastery in Shanghai (so I read).
Saved from the Cultural Revolution, the "Reclining Buddha" above and the sitting Buddha (not allowed to take pictures) are quite amazing and the setting is fully restored. RIGHT in the middle of the new apartment complexes next to the main train station.
Also on display was the thousand armed Buddha above - IN A STORE - the Chinese sure do go in for the commercialization angle!!
