Mujib Nature Reserve, Dead Sea, Jordan
A part of the Great Rift Valley, which mostly runs through Africa, the picture and detail below was enlightening!

Then another map with detail on the Mujib Nature Reserve:
And a Final map of the area, including the proximity to the Dead Sea:

First we walked up the entrance to the canyon ...
Then down the ladder and SURPRISE, the water was BATH LIKE WARM!!! We are used to canyons in Zion, Canyonlands, etc. where the water is ... COLD or at least cool!!! Laughing ...
Splashing along in the water was so amazingly awesome - 400 meters BELOW sea level, in the lowest Nature Preserve in the WORLD (above the water anyway). I am so happy Chad had is Nikon camera for the water pics!!!
The bridge above is right at the Dead Sea entrance of the river into the Sea!
Into the canyon we plunge!!! What a fantastic thing to do, we could have been in Utah for all we could tell here!! (Except that wonderfully warm water!!) See ...
Yes, that's me in the back ...
Lovin' every minute, aren't we!!!
Can you imagine the canyon when the water is REALLY flowing?!!?
Yes, that's me and there WAS swimming involved!!!
Climbing and bouldering WAS involved as well - no doubt about it!!!
Then, of course the waterfall ... and going BEHIND the waterfall ... the water hurt!
Final pictures of us all!!

I love the difference in the waterfall in the background - it was flowing fast!
