The Dead Sea
After Canyoneering up the Mujib River, the bus driver took us up to the Dead Sea (tourist) spot to enjoy. You want to go to the Tourist spots (we chose the cheaper one that had no pool but still had showers). HINT: DO NOT go Canyoneering BEFORE "swimming" in the Dead Sea - salt in wounds, HELLO!!! Laughing out loud!! I was lucky and did not have many cuts but some were screaming! Laughing!
Floating is the operative word - it was hard work to keep your feet below you! That's Karen doing the thumbs up sign!
Friedel demonstrating for your viewing pleasure!! HOWEVER, one HAS to take care ...
As Friedel found out, you DO NOT want that water in your eyes - SALT in you EYES?!!! YEEEOWCH!! That is a quick run to the showers!!
Reading was quite easy whilst relaxing in the Dead Sea! Chad trying to figure out where to go next!!! grin
We even had a Brit join us on the trip (from Dahab, Sinai) who smoked, but we love him anyway!!!
The Group Photo - you can't quite see the West Bank (Palestinian territory) but we could. One could easily have floated over, no problems getting tired as you WILL not sink AND always roll over when you try to swim!!!
When we tried to touch the bottom where it was deep, we found it almost impossible to go underwater!! My shoulders never went under voluntarily (except when floating on my back as below), even when my feet could not touch the bottom. AMAZINGLY odd feeling!!!
Peace! Mud pictures to come next!!
