Off to Hike and do the Via Ferrata on Mount Kinabalu
So this morning we leave for the trek up the mountain - 7 of us (yes, the guys). The other 6 will do a river trip - they have already left - I am using the girls room as our room had 8 people, 8 beds and all of our ... STUFF. Last night we also booked our Sipadan diving experience - one of the top dive sites in the world!! First, we will dive other spots and 7 of us will get Open Water Certification, but that is not until the 9th through the 13th.
So we will now take all of the fleece, long underwear, etc. that we brought to the tropics for the trek. Amazingly, we have actually will have used it twice on this trip. 13,000+ feet is high and cold, no matter where on the planet you are!! Laughing out loud! (That's 4,095 meters for those of you thinking in metric terms.)
ALREADY another change in plans (you HAVE to be ready to move "on the fly" - we change plans by the minute sometimes). We just decided NOT to come back to KK but take all of our belongs with us and move on to Semporna from the base of the mountain!
