Brunei
There are two fantastic Mosques in Bandar Seri Bagawan, the capital of Brunei. Perhaps you thought that Brunei was just a city, but in reality there are four states and one is a pristine rain forest jungle still!!
The downtown Mosque, is right in the middle of town ...
Then their is the Sultan's boat, above - we couldn't actually go on the stone boat but it reminded me of the Dowager Empress' marble boat at the Summer Palace in Beijing. However, the boat in Beijing was to affront the British during the turn of the century (1900).
RIGHT across the street from the Mosque is the above village of tin roofed shacks - an very interesting scenario. The other Mosque is out of town and MUCH MORE elaborate!!
